Who's lieselotte?

about me

When I asked myself at age 29 and in the middle of the corona pandemic the question, “What do I want to do with my life now?”

I couldn't answer that myself. After searching for the answers through career counseling, I discovered that being creativee was always tthe first thing on my list.

After having found the answer, I was ready to take it to the next step. How do I create more creativity? What does creativity mean to me now?

I soon realized that creativity stood for a wide range of techniques and activities: illustration, screen printing, lino,... . But then also the digital: laser cutting, vinyl cutting, illustrating using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

Illustrations

After following 2 years of Graphic Design and Illustration at the Art School in Halle and thanks to A Paper / A Day. I began to develop my own style in which the theme of fantasy kept recurring.

I don’t only illustrate with different hardness of graphite pencils or thicknesses of fineliners but I also experiment with various paper textures.

Digital illustrations

While searching for my illustration style, I also discovered a love for details. This lead to me drawing digitally. After a long search for the right drawing tablet, in November 2023 I bought a Wacom Cintiq Pro 17

Cosplay

The love of dressing up was instilled in me from an early age. My mom designed and made clothes and costumes herself. My father and grandparents were in a carnival group. Halle, where I am from, is one of the biggest carnival cities in Belgium.

The Wednesday afternoon activity at my grandparents was to get behind the sewing machine and to master different techniques. Thanks to these moments, I have been making my carnival costume myself for several years now and I regularly attend cosplay events such as Helltopia, Elftopia, Comic Con,....

Other

My creativity sometimes expresses itself in forms other than illustration or cosplay. This can range from screen printing, lino, laser cutting, etc. These indulgences help me to keep feeding my creativity.
